Chili Cheese Pot Pie

Pot Pie is an all-American comfort food. But the most iconic version of it — from Lancaster, in Pennsylvania Dutch country — has its roots in English dishes made from leftovers. The Pennsylvania Dutch added noodles, and the rest of the country made it a standby.

Meat: Turkey

Filling Ingredients:  Ground turkey, pinto & dark kidney beans, yellow and green onions, garlic, shallots, diced fire roasted tomatoes and crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, chicken stock, bay leaves, chili powder, cumin, cajun seasonings including cayenne, sharp cheddar and pepper jack.

Crust:  Flour, salt, sugar & water

Veggie: Beans

Filling Ingredients: Pinto, dark kidney & black beans, yellow, sweet & green onions, carrots, bell pepper, garlic, shallots, diced fire roasted tomatoes and crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, vegetable stock, bay leaves, chili powder, cumin, cajun seasonings including cayenne, sharp cheddar and pepper jack.
