Nafy Flatley
Nafy Flatley's entrepreneurial journey with food began in Senegal where she grew up cooking with her family. One of her favorite memories from her childhood was making refreshing beverages with her grandma using Baobab fruit. The Baobab tree, also known as the tree of life, grows throughout most of Africa and is an essential part of African cuisine and culture. The entire tree is used and has many purposes.
After immigrating to the United States, through hard work and perseverance, Nafy Flatley founded Teranga. "Teranga" translates to hospitality in Wolof, the Senegalese national language. Through food, she has succeeded in bringing the flavors of her childhood and a community of healing, acceptance, and friendship to the United States.
